Toy Toy Toy or "How to Sex Toys" (Part 1)

Author: Kat Kristall
Sex stores used to be rancid, neon signs on some rarely used street, a test of courage for teenagers, and definitely the last place where you'd actually be welcome. Interestingly, the first Beate Uhse sex shop was, for a long time, an enriching partner activity for maintaining "marital hygiene." By 2025, stores are no longer dark and tacky, but sleek, friendly, and staffed by qualified staff. Stores like FuckYeah Sexshop, Boutique Bizzare, Juicy, and My Holy Desire are places for people of all genders and ages to find toys, gadgets, and sex supplies.
But one thing remains when you enter the hallowed halls of potential orgasm: What should you buy? What's all this, or do people actually like it? And that's exactly what we want to break down for you in this series!
From anal plugs to cedarwood paddles, we not only explain to you in general what toys are supposed to do and how they are used, but also introduce you to some unusual toys. We're kicking off our "How to Sex Toys" series with something unusual. From the fantasy dildo category, here's the most unusual Easter bunny: the ovipositor!
What is an ovipositor?
If you google this word and your algorithm isn't yet programmed to your preferences, you'll get the biological explanation here: This is the name given to the ovipositor of some insects, fish, or reptiles, which use it to lay their eggs at the hatching site or in another animal. Ovipositor even literally means "egg-layer." Not so sexy, is it? But what is an ovipositor?
Like many unusual shapes and toys, the ovipositor has its origins in fantasy, especially Japanese hentai. In these, tentacle monsters often play the role of the active partner. In Japan, the depiction of uncensored sex is forbidden. However, there are already well-known depictions of this type from the 1800s, in Hokusai's "The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife." Incidentally, the same artist also painted "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" and the view of Mount Fuji. One thing these tentacle monsters, or other monsters, do is fill the penetrated person with their semen or eggs.
This is about the representation of a “breeding” scenario.
And that's exactly what an ovipositor does! It's a dildo with a hollow inner canal through which eggs can be pushed. It's a truly sexy egg-laying device with which you can reenact a fantasy scenario together.
The eggs can be made of silicone, which you can use to train your pelvic floor muscles, similar to love balls. They can also be made of gelatin, agar-agar, or similar materials, and they liquefy inside the body. This is often more about fantasy, body perception, or transgressive aesthetics than actual biology.
Who are ovipositors for?
As you can probably already imagine, this unusual toy isn't necessarily for beginners! But it is a fun and intense toy with which you can live out a whole host of fantasies! You can vary the degree of stretching with the balls, so it's definitely suitable for people who enjoy playing with larger toys (size queen/king/majesty). You could also see it as tunnel play, a BDSM practice where a type of play cannot be interrupted but must be completed, as the balls must be expelled again. In general, it is definitely a toy for people with unusual preferences! Happy Easter. So, are you in the mood to find some other eggs in your basket now?
By the way, our Ginger Spray can be used with all sex toys, even those made of silicone, and can give your favorite toy that special kick.
